She applauded our success in getting Richmond’s homeless back to work. She won re-election in the November 2010 mayoral election.
Tom Butt and Dr. Jeff Ritterman, who attended with his partner Vivien Feyer, represent the leading edge of the Richmond City Council as Council Members have been proactive in seeking new solutions to turn the tide against homelessness. Richmond City Council candidates Jovanka Beckles and Eduardo Martinez also came to the Autumn Wine Tasting in support of Saffron Strand. Jovanka went on to win a seat on the City Council in the November 2010 election and Eduardo came very close.
When you meet these civic minded community leaders, please thank them for their common sense, vision, and courage. They support our work to help reduce the taxpayer’s burden of unreimbursed public expenditures caused by homelessness.
Also in attendance were Saffron Strand Board Members Lea Hundley (and her spouse Chris, who were individual donors) and Grace Shocron (and her spouse Alain, who opened the evening's festivities). Most participants won something in the raffles or went home with valuable items from the silent auction.
